World Map Test 1
This is 1 of 2 map tests you will take. For this test you need to know the countries and capitals in North America, South America, and Africa. There are also a few physical features you'll need to know (located in the lessons). The second map test will be before the end of the school year and will cover Europe, Asia, and Oceania.
Before you take the test:
You must arrange with me to take the test before the end of the semester. Send me an e-mail or come and talk with me in the Computer Lab to arrange a time to take the test. When you take the test you must have a teacher supervise, so please do not wait until the last minute.

When you take the test:
You will be given blank maps and a word bank with all of the countries you need to know. Both the country and their capital. They will not be listed together in the word bank.
The map you will be given for the test will have numbers and letters:

The number corresponds to the country and the letter is its capital. So for example 1 is the United States and 'A' is Washington D.C. its capital.

When you take the test you will have a WORD BANK of both countries and capitals, each map has its own word bank. For example on the NORTH AMERICA part of the test the word bank will only include countries, capitals, and physical features in North America. And then when you get to the CENTRAL AMERICAN part of the test you'll only see countries and capitals in the word bank that are from Central America.
You won't have to label ALL the countries and capitals in North America, Central America, South America, and Africa. Label as many as you can, the more the better. The test will be out of 35, so if you can label 35 countries an/or capitals you will receive 100% on the test. Remember you will have a word bank to choose from.

Retakes:
You may retake the test if you are unhappy with your score. However, if you have waited until the last minute to take your test, there will not be time to grade it in time for you to re-take it, you must take it at least a week before the semester ends if you are planning on re-taking the test for a better grade. All retakes have the same deadline as the test, they have to be finished by the end of the school day before Winter Break. If you have problems or questions about taking the test let me know and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
